We LOVE having visitors. After Grandma and Grandpa Price left, we had 6 days to recover before our next guest, my dear friend Sherri and her daughter Anna visited us. We had a blast!
We started our visit by exploring the Town of Cave Creek. It's a little old western town.
We had authentic mexican food with margaritas of course!
We found time to watch movies, play at the park and color Easter eggs.
I think they did an awesome job!
On Sunday, we made plans with the Kelly Family to go to Apache Junction and Superstition Mountain.
Unfournately, Aunt Sherri was not feeling well so we let her rest at home.
Our day started with a visit to an old western ghost town near Superstition.
After witnessing a gun fight, the adults decided to lock the kids up in jail.
Don't worry. It was not forever.
Our group consisted of the Price Family, Anna and the Kelly Family: Jennifer, Michael and Kathryn.
That's Superstition Mountain behind us.
Then, we decided to hike the mountain. I'm not sure what we were thinking. It was a very HOT day.
You can barely see Anna and Zach but they were the leaders!
What stamina!
Jennifer, Jason and Anna taking a much needed rest.
Poor Anna looks exhausted!
After our hike, we ventured further down the road to Canyon Lake.
It was so hot that the kids had to put their feet in the water. It was refreshing!
WE loved having Anna with us for the day!
The boys made her their honorary "sister".
You think our day would have ended there but no.
We continued on Rt 188 further into the desert and came across these beautiful canyons.
After seeing this amazing sight and spending time hiking around, we
finally decided to call it a day. Our last stop was at a town called
Tortilla Flats. It was a perfect stop for an ice cream cone!
Check out the hanging man! Tough town.
