Jason's 9th Birthday!

On May 23rd, Jason turned 9 yrs old.  I can't believe my baby is already 9.  Where has the time gone?

Well, I know Jason was a bit bummed because none of his FL friends were here to celebrate with him.  So his dad and I treated Jason, and us of course, to a 3hr hummer drive through the desert.  Jason's friend, Grayson, was also with us to celebrate this big birthday.  Jason has been wanting to do this hummer ride for some time now.  It was bonus for him that Grayson could join us.  Plus, it was the perfect time to do the hummer excursion. We just had a BLAST!!!

As you can see, the birthday boy was pretty excited.
Hold on tight!

Doesn't that look like fun?

The views were amazing! Interestingly enough,
we didn't see any rattlesnakes or gila monsters our
entire time out in the desert.  I'm not complaining, just surprised.

The three musketeers-Grayson, Zach and Jason

I'm serious about being completely in the desert for 3 hours.
No civilization in sight!
We learned about many things in the desert and we even saw an arrowhead
left behind by the early Indians in the area. Grayson is displaying it.

Believe it or not, this hook came from the center of a cactus.
This is what the Indians used to go fishing.
I know your asking yourself, "How can you
go fishing in the desert?"
Well, in this area there is an underground river that surfaces in certain
locations in the desert.

It was a wonderful way to spend Jason's birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON

May Update

Sooooooo much has happened this month.  I'm not sure where to start really so I guess I'll start from the beginning.  Let me add that this was an incredibly stressful month for us.  Jeff had to go out of town for a week.  Normally this is not a big deal but while he was out of town, the boys and I had to move out of the rental so that the owners could pack up their home.  (In case you didn't know, we bought the rental.  We just fell in love with it! ) The night before we had to leave, Jason took a terrible fall off a 12ft slide at the playground.  He fall right on his neck and got the wind knocked right out of him.  Guess where we ended up???  That's right the Emergency room.

All alone, no family and Jeff out of town, I was scared out of my mind.  It was a very long evening but with a sigh of relief, Jason checked out completely fine.  Praise God!!!!

Needless to say, bright and early the next day, the boys and I left the rental and moved into a teeny tiny hotel room for a week.  It was not fun.

Well, we finally closed on the 18th and the moving truck arrived with all of our things on the 19th.  Since then, we have been busy unpacking, organizing, painting, furniture shopping, ......etc.  Get the point....so there has not been anytime to update our blog.  Sorry about that friends but I hope you can understand how stressful things have been for us.
